Jonny Lang is pleased to announce a brand new studio album, Signs, which will be released in North America on September 8th via Concord Records. You can download “Make It Move” for free on Jonny Lang’s website. Anyone who originally discovered Jonny Lang through his searing instrumental work will revel in the huge guitar tones and go for broke solos on Signs, while those who have appreciated his growth as an honest and passionate songwriter will find that honesty and passion unabated. Signs was produced by Lang, Drew Ramsey, and Shannon Sanders. Josh Kelly helmed “Bring Me Back Home.” Lang offers, “Josh and I cut six or seven songs together and had a blast doing it. I am saving the other ones for who knows what, but I definitely wanted that one to be on this record.” Since the release of his debut album, GRAMMY Award winning Jonny Lang has built a reputation as one of the best live performers and guitarists of his generation. The path Lang has been on has brought him the opportunity to support or perform with some of the most respected legends in music. He has shared the stage with everyone from The Rolling Stones and B.B. King to Aerosmith and Buddy Guy, who he continues to tour with today. Give a listen to the chat that Jonny and I had on Thursday September 7th on The River. we talked music making, who his musical influences are, his song writing process and even what could be the theme song of his life. He also recommended a song from Stevie Wonder that he wanted to share with our listeners. I will forever be grateful to my dear friend Terry Thompson who invited me to see Jonny Lang at Penchanga Casino years ago. Instantly I became a fan of Jonny for his dynamic energy on stage. You can feel every bit of emotion during his shows with his incredible voice and powerful guitar playing. Fast forward to another lifetime and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Jonny Lang would be performing at Belly Up Aspen on September 8th, the exact date of his new album release. In fact the last time I got to see Jonny perform was at Belly Up Solana Beach, CA. Being a recent immigrant to Colorado, as soon as I got here and found out there was a Belly Up Aspen, I reached out to see if they would be interested in doing on-air promotions for ticket giveaways. Yay!!! Taylor of Belly Up Aspen has been game every time I've checked in to see if they'd like to partner with us at KRVG The River. But this time was special for me, I called up and let them know that Jonny's new album was releasing on the very same day that he would be performing at Belly Up Aspen, "could I have a couple pair of tickets for on-air giveaway." A quick "yes" and game was on. I made another quick phone call to David Einstein of Einstein's Theory and an interview was scheduled with Jonny as easy as that. I haven't gotten nervous about doing an interview in a very long time, thank goodness Jonny is such a caring guy and willing to play along in any direction I wanted. Congratulations Jonny on the release of your 9th studio album, "Signs". Thank you for sharing your voice and music with us. Heartstrings!!!
